ChatHealth text messaging service

Confidential text messaging service available for children and young people.

This confidential text messaging service enables children and young people aged 11-19 in West Sussex to send questions to their school nursing team (public health nurses).

The text service is an easy way to ask for help about a range of issues, make an appointment with a school nurse or find out how to access other local services, such as emotional support or sexual health services.

The service receives texts covering a wide range of issues, including:

  • relationships
  • self-harm
  • anxiety
  • weight
  • smoking
  • drugs
  • pregnancy
  • sexual health
  • family issues
  • general health
  • exam stress
  • and many more.

Students have said they like using the messaging service because it is:

  • less embarrassing
  • quick and easy
  • anonymous
  • non-judgemental.

Look out for the launch of a ChatHealth phone app during 2019 too, featuring secure instant messaging.
