The Family Information Service offers free, impartial, up-to-date information on activities, services and childcare to all families.
We are the only locally authorised source of information on registered childcare across West Sussex and receive daily updates direct from Ofsted.
On 1 June all childcare providers were asked to begin re-opening to more children. Providers must follow government guidance around taking protective measures to reduce risks. Childcare providers are keeping us informed of their plans to re-open and those that are open are listed on our website. Providers that need to re-open in a phased way may not currently show on our website.
Some providers may be temporarily operating on alternative premises to the one we list, for example on a partner site. Some providers may need to temporarily modify their usual operating hours in order to minimise risk during the outbreak. Speak to the provider about how you can work together to balance your childcare needs with these changes.
To minimise the risk of spreading infection, you are encouraged to limit the number of providers that your child attends, ideally ensuring your child attends the same provider consistently. Speak to your provider about increasing attendance before exploring additional or alternative childcare.
For holiday playschemes listed that are not Ofsted registered, you should carry out your own checks and ask friends and people in your network about their experiences of these services.
Extra help to find childcare places is available via our brokerage service. If you have been unsuccessful in finding an immediate place, need help in making enquiries, or are looking for a childcare place to start in September, complete our online form.
