Accessing childcare

Find out who to contact for support with accessing childcare for all children, including those with a disability or additional needs.

Across West Sussex there is a wide range of childcare provision collectively known as settings, including:

  • childminders
  • pre-schools
  • day nurseries
  • out of school clubs
  • holiday playschemes.

Early Years settings are responsible for supporting any child regardless of their needs. They are able to ask for support and advice from us and should work with you as the parent to plan and support for your child’s needs

All settings should meet the requirement of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice 2015.
