Worthing Library - your community hub

Worthing Library is due to open in summer 2021 and will provide custom-designed space to bring Children and Family services, Find it Out and Youth Emotional Support services, the Registration Service and a new and improved Library Service together under one roof.

The new library will become your community hub and will be based in the current library building in Richmond Road.

Currently the building is closed to the public and won’t re-open until the fitout works have been completed.

A temporary library is in place at 37 Richmond Road, which is opposite the main library across the pedestrian crossing.

A big driver for Worthing Library was to involve the local community in its development and thanks to a public consultation in 2018, the design plans were able to be finalised in 2019/20.

Unfortunately, the construction work had to be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but in September 2020, Logan Construction Limited were able to safely get on site to commence the refurbishment works.

These are planned to take at least six months, with the newly completed building due to open to the public this summer.

We can also announce that FG Library has been chosen as the supplier who will fit out the new space and we look forward to sharing the designs with you soon. FG Library have a track record of providing excellent furniture and spaces designed for modern services.

For now, have a look at the images below showing what the internal layout of the new community hub could look like.

We’ll keep this page updated as the project progresses.
