Holiday Activities and Food Programme

West Sussex County Council is working with a range of providers to put on Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) during the summer and Christmas holidays.

It is for school children aged 4 to 16 who receive benefits-related free school meals. The programme is fully funded by the Department for Education and children and young people can enjoy (free of charge) holiday activities, as well as have a nutritional meal.

The holiday activity programmes provide:

  • healthy and nutritious meals for all children attending
  • a wide range of fun and enriching activities
  • education around healthy eating and preparing food
  • a safe space for children to interreact with others.

You can see what clubs are available in your area during the Christmas holidays on the Family Information Service online directory.

Our summer programme made a difference to lots of families and children enjoyed a whole range of activities.
