Following confirmation that a healthcare worker working in the Accident & Emergency (A&E) Unit at Worthing Hospital tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), Public Health England (PHE) is contacting all patients seen by this individual and all colleagues who came into close contact with them, to advise on the precautions they need to take.

All services at Worthing Hospital, including surgery and outpatient appointments are operating normally and the hospital is following PHE guidance to minimise the risk of the virus spreading.

While all services remain open, the hospital is asking the public to help minimise pressure on A&E services by using alternative options for treatment of non-emergency conditions whenever possible.

Anyone who is concerned can contact NHS 111 for advice. Please do not attend A&E if you are experiencing symptoms.
