You can find our terms and conditions of ceremony bookings and the cost of booking a registrar on our ceremony fees page.
Once you have booked your venue and registrar you need to book an appointment to give notice.
It is a legal requirement that both you and your partner give notice of the marriage/civil partnership at your local register office.
Marriages and civil partnerships can be booked at any of our venues. It is not a statutory requirement to have a ceremony when formalising a civil partnership, it is possible to book a simple signing at any of our venues. In the statutory West Sussex Register Office the only civil partnership booking option is for a simple signing without a ceremony.
Please note: with the commencement of The Civil Partnerships, Marriages and Deaths (Registration etc.) Act on 4 May 2021, the marriage schedule has now replaced the use of marriage registers in ceremonies. This means you will be asked to sign a schedule instead of a marriage register at the end of your ceremony. It also means that the legal certificate for your ceremony will not be produced until after the legal formalities have been completed during the week following your ceremony.
