Book a registrar

Check whether a registrar is available for your ceremony.

Before booking a registrar for your marriage or civil partnership, make sure you have read our guide about ceremony restrictions during the pandemic.

Once you have chosen your venue and provisionally booked it, you need to check if an appropriate registrar is available to conduct your marriage, civil partnership, renewal of vows or naming ceremony.

Complete our online ceremony enquiry form and we will contact you to confirm the booking and ask for payment.

Please also complete this form if you want to book a simple civil partnership without a ceremony.

You can find our terms and conditions of ceremony bookings and the cost of booking a registrar on our ceremony fees page.

Once you have booked your venue and registrar you need to book an appointment to give notice.

It is a legal requirement that both you and your partner give notice of the marriage/civil partnership at your local register office.

Marriages and civil partnerships can be booked at any of our venues. It is not a statutory requirement to have a ceremony when formalising a civil partnership, it is possible to book a simple signing at any of our venues. In the statutory West Sussex Register Office the only civil partnership booking option is for a simple signing without a ceremony.
