|Biography:||Andy Petch was born in 1976 and grew up in Horsham. He went to Tanbridge House School and then Collyers before going on to study The Science and Management of Health and Fitness. He comes from a large family with three elder brothers.
In 2002, Andy joined the Fire Service in Greater Manchester at the busiest station in the county. He had an eventful start to his career, receiving the Chief County Fire Officer's Certificate for Outstanding Performance following an incident on his first ever night shift. Having transferred to Surrey Fire service, Andy now works for East Sussex Fire and Rescue at Hove Fire Station.
A keen sportsman, he has been involved in local clubs throughout his life, playing football, rugby, cricket and darts for which he represented Sussex. His rugby career is on temporary hold after a serious leg break in 2012 but his cricket has continued and he will be playing for Burgess Hill this summer. Andy has a keen interest in medieval and local history and keeps fit with regular visits to the gym.
'My shift pattern allows me time to work hard and represent the people of Hassocks and Victoria. I take engagement with the community seriously and have a vast experience of doing so through my job. I believe that being elected means listening to people, acting promptly on their concerns and keeping them informed of what is going on.'
