|Biography:||John Rogers is one of three elected members on Worthing Borough Council for Offington and Findon Valley which is part of the Cissbury Division. With over seven years' experience as a Councillor he deals with local issues for residents and has an excellent track record of achieving results. John is Chairman of the Worthing Licensing and Control Committee that oversees the sale of alcohol together with taxi and street trading licences.
Born in 1947, John is now retired. He has been married for 41 years and has two adult children and five grand-children. A former Area Housing Manager with Adur District Council, John is a Rotarian Past President and works with other Rotarians to raise money for local needy people and to support other charities in their campaigns. He is Vice-Chairman of his local community centre and Chairman of the Worthing Neighbourhood Watch Committee and as such has excellent contacts and working relationship with the local Sussex Police Neighbourhood Policing Team.
John is particularly interested in all highway matters having had experience of problems during his time as a Housing Manager working with County and District Council Engineers.
As a keen supporter of cycling, John attends the Worthing Revolutions Cycle Group, the West Sussex Cycle Forum and is Cycle Champion for Worthing Borough Council. He was the lead Member during the debate on the creation of the shared use cycle route along Worthing promenade and on other proposed cycle routes and is very keen to see better cycle routes and facilities throughout West Sussex.
A firm supporter of protecting our countryside, John keeps a firm eye on any planning matters that may impinge upon our natural surroundings.
