PASTORAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT

THE BURGESS HILL ACADEMY

35 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM TIME ONLY

GRADE 5 - £14,674 pa (Full time equivalent salary of £18,672 pa).

We wish to appoint a Pastoral Medical Assistant to provide effective support to students with minor medical needs, administer first aid as necessary and provide administrative support as part of a wider pastoral team, whose work relates to the needs of students, attendance and behaviour management. The role is for 35 hours a week term time only, working Monday to Friday 8.30-4pm.

Following training in the role, the successful candidate will also be expected to have knowledge of first aid procedures and the administration of medication to students, and will be required to work to the associated policies of the University of Brighton Academies Trust. Experience of working within a school, with young people or within a medical environment would be desirable.

The successful applicant must be able to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate a high level of administrative skills. They will have good communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work well as part of a team and on their own initiative.

The successful applicant will also be flexible, professional, reliable and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure and with conflicting demands.
