The West Sussex Alternative Provision College (WSAPC) is an educational establishment based in 8 separate locations across West Sussex offering individual programmes for primary and secondary pupils unable to effectively access their mainstream schools for a variety of reasons. WSAPC was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in July 2014.

We are seeking to appoint two Teaching Assistants to provide keyworker support for Secondary aged children identified as at risk of permanent exclusion in mainstream schools.

If you are a dedicated and enthusiastic individual, with an interest in working with young people and would like the opportunity to join a successful team, then we would like to hear from you.

You will work as part of the WSAPC Inclusion Team providing an outreach service, the aim is to support children and staff in the mainstream schools to develop skills and strategies in order to avoid permanent exclusions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a role that is diverse and rewarding; and to work in a team where initiative and creativity are at the forefront of solution focused practice.

The position will involve travelling to a range of different mainstreams schools in an agreed area in West Sussex – north (e.g. Burgess Hill, Horsham, Crawley, East Grinstead), South (e.g. coastline from Emsworth to Shoreham), Mid (e.g. Midhurst, Steyning, Billingshurst, Pulborough).

You would have access to an office base in WSAPC Littlehampton and/or WSAPC Burgess Hill.

Hours will be split over 5 days e.g. 9.30am – 2.00pm Mo/Tu/We/Th and 9.30am – 1.30pm Fri, but this is negotiable for the right candidate. The position is term time only.
