If you have a passion for working with young people, and a love of learning, then this may be the opportunity that you have been looking for. You will need to be confident, responsive and adaptable to manage the day to day demands of a role where no two days are the same.

The key responsibilities will include:

• Being in the front of a class of students, across the secondary age range, supervising a lesson, which has been pre-planned by each subject teacher. The key purpose of your role will be to secure continuity of learning in the teacher’s absence.
• Supporting lunch time cover arrangements which enable the school to promote positive student behaviour.
• Provide responsive administrative services, as required, to enable the school to meet our high standards of teaching and learning.

This post is within our support staff workforce arrangements and does not require a teaching qualification. Our school is committed to continuing professional development. Relevant training to support the range of duties will be provided as part of the induction process.

We have a flexible workforce and can discuss working days and hours at interview. Normal working hours are 08:30 – 15.10 with a maximum of 30.50 hours per week.

Please note

All posts are subject to Safer Recruitment processes and require satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check. All recruitment is undertaken in accordance with Safe Recruitment requirements. As part of our due diligence, we can only accept a curriculum vitae (CV) alongside a full application form. In accordance with the latest guidance, we may also conduct on-line searches as part of our recruitment process. The stated aim of this approach is that it may help to identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, and we may want to explore with individual applicants at the interview.

All posts are classified as having substantial access to children, and appointment is subject to an enhanced police check of previous criminal convictions (DBS). Applicants are required, before appointment, to disclose any conviction, caution or binding-over including ‘spent convictions’ under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975. Non-disclosure may lead to termination of employment. However, disclosure of a criminal background will not necessarily debar individuals from employment – this will depend upon the nature of the offence(s) and when they occurred.
