Special Educational Needs, PP and EAL teacher To begin work in September Northgate is a vibrant, multi-cultural primary school situated very close to Crawley town centre. We are a growing school with 660 children on roll currently including a Specialist Support Centre (SSC) for children with hearing impairment and a further 39-place maintained Nursery. The school has recently been graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted. We have over 30 different languages within our school, and an increasing number of children with EHCPs. As a SEN teacher, you'll be an experienced qualified teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Working closely with the head teacher, Deputy head in charge of inclusion, SENCO and other senior colleagues, you'll use your leadership skills to manage provision in your school and to provide support to other teachers and will liaise with the leadership team. The successful candidates will: Essential experience: • be enthusiastic, caring and innovative and have good interpersonal and communication skills within our team • support teachers to develop and implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom • have a very good rapport with staff, external agencies and parents to reassure, lead and guide them • support classroom staff to design interventions with pupils in the classroom • design and plan for children with complex needs to ensure their learning needs are being met. Desirable experience: • have innovative and up to date experience in sensory needs, regulation, interception, and emotional wellbeing; keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and cascade information to colleagues. • provide advice, guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEN.
