Do you have the drive and ambition to make a REAL difference for all children? Do you want to work in a school where EVERY individual is valued for who they are? Where you can make the biggest difference and change lives!

Northgate is a vibrant, multi-cultural primary school, with a real village feel, situated very close to Crawley town centre. Every child is nurtured so they understand their own unique characteristics and feel confident about who they are. Northgate children are first and foremost kind with high hopes and dreams for a positive future. We have more than 600 children on roll including a maintained Nursery and Specialist Support Centre (SSC) for children with hearing impairment.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Phase Leader with excellent interpersonal skills. The post will be working within the year groups 1 and 2 and liaising with other Phase Leaders and members of the SLT to continue driving forward improvements for our diverse community. The post holder will be a class teacher in one of the phase year groups with 0.4 release to support the team.

We pride ourselves on our caring, child-centred ethos and we would love to hear from you if you:

• are an exemplary practitioner, committed to personalising learning to meet every child’s needs
• have high expectations and love making a difference
• have an excellent understanding of teaching, learning and assessment in the primary years
• enjoy working with children and colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures

We can offer:

• a school where pupils’ voices are heard. Their views are valued; their behaviour is understood and staff have high expectations for them. (Ofsted, January 2022)
• a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly supportive school team
• genuine commitment to supporting a positive work-life balance
• an environment that encourages professional development and offers the potential for promotion
• excellent resources and facilities

Northgate is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
