Minerals Local Plan public - Inspector's report and adoption

View the latest information on the examination of the Minerals Local Plan.

The Minerals Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State at the end of May 2017 and was subject to public examination hearings during September 2017.

Inspector Jonathan Manning BSc (Hons) MA MRTPI was appointed to conduct the examination to determine whether the plan is 'sound' and legally compliant.

Inspector's report

During the examination hearings, discussions revealed that a number of modifications to the Plan were likely to be necessary before the Inspector could confirm his findings.

The modifications were subject to a period of representations between January and March 2018 to allow their legal compliance and soundness to be scrutinised.

On 30 May 2018, following consideration of all representations and evidence before him, the Inspector issued his final report. It confirms the Plan is sound and legally compliant subject to a number of Main Modifications, as set out in a separate schedule.

In July 2018, we will consider the report and decide whether the Plan should be adopted. If adopted, it will become part of the statutory development plan for West Sussex.
