How the County Council spends your money

View current and recent budget details showing how the County Council spends its revenue.

The budget results from policy planning work carried out by Cabinet Members and service groups. Recently, it has taken place against a background of serious and accelerating downturn in the UK economy and the continuing very poor financial settlements from central government.

West Sussex County Council has also entered into the third phase of our Fundamental Service Review. Savings from this work have been invested in meeting commitments and enhancing priority front line services.

The County Council's Budget Book details:

  • our revenue budget
  • the nature of our expenditure and income
  • our medium-term financial strategy
  • our capital programme
  • our treasury management strategy.

It also breaks down the budget by service portfolio.
