How we manage the fund
The pension fund invests contributions and investment income not
required to pay benefits in stocks and shares, property and private
equity. The objective of investment is to deliver long-term returns
which are greater than the growth in liabilities. The pension
fund's investment policy is the responsibility of the Pensions
Panel and external fund managers have been appointed to manage and
invest the pension fund monies in line with the Fund's customised
benchmark on an active, discretionary basis in order to give
diversification and reduce risk.
