Tributes paid after the death of County Councillor Mick Hodgson

West Sussex County Council is in mourning after the death of
County Councillor Mick Hodgson, who represented the Warnham and
Rusper electoral division, and was Vice Chairman of the Council
from 2009 until May 2013.
Mick, who joined the council in 2001, had lived in Warnham for
most of his life, and was a former chairman of the parish
He was also chairman of the County Council’s Planning Committee
A Chartered Surveyor, his special interest was the countryside,
and he was married with three children.
Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council, said:

A date for a by-election will be arranged in due course.
Mick’s death was the second piece of sad news for the Council in
County Councillor Frank Wilkinson, who had represented
Storrington since 1997, died in July.
Voters in that division will go to the polls on Thursday
26 September to elect a new County Councillor.
Nominations for the vacancy will close at noon on Friday
30 August and a list of candidates will be published on
Tuesday 3 September.
