Latest Leader's blog
Hello, I’m Louise Goldsmith and I’m Leader of West
Sussex County Council.
These are tough times for public services and
in the months ahead there will be some tough choices. I want to try
and help residents understand the thinking behind some of the
difficult decisions we must make - a personal blog seems like a
good way of doing this.
It will also provide a chance to explain what
I do in an average week and 'showcase' some of the many good things
the County Council is involved in.
Now a bit about me. I’ve lived in West Sussex
for 25 years. Both my children went to West Sussex schools – the
Central CofE Junior School, Chichester High School for Boys and
Chichester High School for Girls.
I’ve been involved in politics since 1985 and
worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years –
a pretty useful profession in the current situation.
You can tell me what you think about this blog
by sending your views or questions to the Leader’s Hotseat.
Best wishes
Louise
