Capital and asset management manage the complete lifecycle of property ownership for West Sussex County Council, providing a One Stop shop for our clients' property needs.
The team is made up of building surveyors, electrical engineers and mechanical engineers who oversee and manage all planned building, reactive maintenance, fire precaution, energy management and improvement projects.
The Business and Information Group is made up of the Business Management Team - responsible for support and information provision - and the Business Services Team - in charge of land and property.

Building maintenance of County Council's building is managed by two teams, the schools surveying team and the county buildings (non-schools) surveying team. Learn more about the remit of each team.
West Sussex County Council is a substantial landlord and we provide a comprehensive property management service across all sectors. With over 1,300 sets of premises and land holdings in excess of 12,000 separate buildings, we have a total asset value of £2.6 billion.
Capital and Asset Management continually strives to maintain standards of quality in the design, construction, repair and operation of buildings owned and managed by West Sussex County Council.
The Capital Projects Team is responsible for the delivery of all major capital work programmes, from inception to occupation, throughout the county. This includes all new buildings, alteration and adaptation works and development advice for the disposal and acquisition of land.
The County Council owns or leases administrative buildings, which are primarily used as offices. There are currently 35 site premises throughout the County, some occupied by a single department or service, and others in multiple service occupancy.
These standards have been produced in order to encourage and facilitate minimum acceptable health, safety and welfare standards for all WSCC premises' construction and maintenance sites.
