The Sustainable Community Strategy
West Sussex County Council is working with colleagues to develop a Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) for the county on behalf of the West Sussex Strategic Partnership (WSSP). The SCS will set out a vision for the county and identify the aspirations of communities and individuals throughout West Sussex.
When it is approved in October, the SCS will replace the current West Sussex Community Strategy and lead the partners in preparing action plans, investment programmes and implementing the second Local Area Agreement (LAA2).
The Government has required that the WSSP produces the SCS and that stakeholders observe a "duty to co-operate" in the process. In West Sussex, this includes the Strategies prepared by each Borough and District Council.
The "Big Picture" notes provide background information leading up to the start of the consultation.
Further information will appear on this page as the Sustainable Community Strategy is developed.
