Fostering

Foster carers look after most
children in care in West Sussex. They make an incredible difference
to children’s lives and we’ve included some real life stories of
people who foster to give you an idea of what they do.
You can find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions
and queries about fostering on the frequently asked questions page.
If you have any further questions or would like to speak to someone
about fostering then please contact our Fostering Recruitment
Team.
You can also visit our West Sussex video pages where you can
find our film Fostering -
the inside story.
If you would like more information about becoming a foster
carer, please complete our fostering enquiry form and someone will
contact you to discuss things further and arrange a home visit, if
appropriate. You can also download our foster carers'
charter on the 'About fostering' page.
Long-term fostering provides children in care who are unable to return to their birth parents with a stable, secure environment until they reach a minimum age of 18 years . Find out more about long-term foster care, and what it takes to become a long-term foster carer.
