Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)
The County Council and NHS
West Sussex are undertaking an assessment of the health
and wellbeing needs of the local population.
Working with our partners in the district
and borough councils and the voluntary sector, as well as the
views and opinions of the public, we are identifying the major
issues and challenges for the County. The umbrella term for this
work is the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, or JSNA.
An executive summary of the latest work is produced yearly. The
summary from 2008 is attached. We are also working on a much more
comprehensive document, which includes work done over the last few
years. Please email us if you would like a copy of this.

The attached 'core dataset' provides a list of health,
social, economic and demographic data that is
held within the
JSNA
. These sets of data
often map to national indicators, vital signs, scorecards and
commissioning priorities.
