Compliance and enforcement

The County Council has a duty to control development associated with mineral extraction and processing, the management of waste, and the County Council's own development. This section provides a general overview of compliance and enforcement and the principles that guide the County Council's work.

Commercial, industrial and leisure land availability

We have carried out surveys of retail, business, industrial, storage, and office use since the mid-1970s. These surveys help us with monitoring the provision of employment floorspace.

Development control for roads
