Choosing childcare

Choosing childcare and early education is a big step for you and your child. The Family Information Service is there to help you find the right childcare for your child, whether they are a baby or child of school age. They can tell you all about the different types of childcare, what help is available towards the cost of paying for childcare and a wide range of other family services and support across West Sussex. There is also extra support available to parents of children with a disability or additional needs.

Certain types of childcare must be registered with Ofsted by law. By choosing to use registered childcare you can rest assured you are leaving your child in a safe environment. You will also be able to claim part of your childcare costs through Tax Credits, if eligible.

We hold childcare information for the West Sussex area only. If you are looking for childcare in a neighbouring county please visit our Family Information Service Map page for details on how to contact your local Family Information Service.
