Nationality Checking Service (NCS)

Our staff, who are registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC), are trained to check your application is completed correctly. We will photocopy and certify your passport and other relevant documents, so they remain in your safekeeping. We will then send your application and correct fee to the UK Border Agency by special delivery.

We can only provide a checking service and cannot give general immigration advice or act for you after the point of application.

You can make an appointment at any local authority in England who offers this service.

The cost of using Nationality Checking

Fees are valid from 1 April 2012 - 31 March 2013

Children under 18 years of age do not have to attend the Nationality Checking Service appointment.

Please note that there is a separate fee payable to the Home Office UK Border Agency.

Booking a Nationality Checking appointment

Before making your appointment, please make sure that:

• you have completed the correct application form - this can be downloaded from the Home Office website;
• you have all the relevant supporting documents; and
• you have a valid debit or credit card, as payment will be taken in order to confirm your appointment (this fee cannot be refunded if you fail to keep your appointment).

We offer this service at Crawley and Littlehampton registration offices.

To make an appointment you will need to complete an Appointment Request Form. To obtain this form please contact 01243 642122 with your name and address and this will be posted to you.

A staff member will contact you within 6 weeks of receiving your initial appointment request form to schedule your appointment.
