Library charges and loan periods
Joining
the library is free. All book loans are also free, and you can
borrow up to 20 items.
There is a charge if you borrow spoken word cassettes,
audiobooks on CD, playaways, compact discs, videos
and DVDs.
You can also reserve books for a small charge.
Loan periods
- Most items can be borrowed for 3 weeks.
- DVDs, Blu-ray, music CDs and games can be hired for 1
week.

Per day:
- Adult books, audio books, Playaways - £0.20
- DVDs, star titles - £0.60
- DVDs, other titles - £0.60
- Blue-ray - £0.60
- Music CDs - £0.20/£0.10
- Games DS, PS3, Wii, Xbox games - £0.60
- Children's books - no daily charge
- Administrative charge for each reminder letter - £0.60

Reservation charges
- Per item - £0.75
- Supplementary charge for items obtained from some sources
outside West Sussex - £5.00
There are no reservation charges for audio books, children’s items
(if reserved by children), DVDs, large print, music
CDs, console games, items held in the County Stores or books
requested by 14-17 year olds.

Photocopying and prints, per copy
- A4 black and white - £0.10
- A3 black and white - £0.15
- A4 colour - £0.50

Faxes, cost per page, to send
- Single fax - £1.10
- A fax within Europe - £1.65
- A fax elsewhere in the world - £2.20
- To receive a fax in your specified library - £0.75
Public access computers
- Annual subscription - £25.00
- Six month subscription - £15.00
- 1 hour (depending on availability and access) - £2.50
- 1/2 hour (depending on availability and access) - £1.25
- 15 minutes - £0.75
- Printing from PCs, A4 black & white - £0.10
- Printing from PCs, A4 colour - £0.50
Lost or damaged items (in addition to replacement
cost) - £1.50
Membership card replacement - £1.25

Credit card payments
Payment for charges and fines can be paid by credit or debit
card at the following libraries.
