Study and learning

Libraries support education in many ways, with a wide range of books and resources including computer courses, language tapes and support for Open University students.

Careers information

All West Sussex libraries have plenty of careers information to help you make the right choices. Visit your local library for masses of information and help.

Computer courses

We work very closely with Adult and Community Learning to provide a range of IT training in libraries. Some libraries offer occasional courses run by library staff on subjects like the Electronic Library and Family History.

Improve your maths and english

Would you like an up-to-date qualification that could be really useful for work or do you need to plug a gap on your CV? Then brush up your English or Maths skills, take the test and gain the free National Certificate in Adult Literacy or Numeracy.

Language tapes

If you are going on holiday and want to learn a few useful phrases, or you want to learn a language in more detail for pleasure or exams, your local library has a huge variety of language cassettes and CDs.

Learning on your own

Libraries are a great place if you want to learn but don't want to go on a course. We have books on every subject, computer access that's free for information sources and learning materials, study space and videos and DVDs on a number of subjects.
