Periodicals and magazines

A wide range of local periodicals and magazines can be referred to.

Sussex Archaeological Collections cover archaeology, local history and genealogy, and a complete collection of annual volumes from 1848 to date is held at every major town library.

The Sussex County Magazine is strong on local history, agriculture and countryside, customs, folklore, literature, music and drama. Monthly issues, 1926-1956, are available at every major town library.

Periodicals dealing with the history of particular towns are also available, especially Bognor Regis, Burgess Hill, Chichester, East Grinstead, Littlehampton, Midhurst, Petworth and Shoreham-by-Sea.
