Sussex Ouse Valley Way

A long distance walking trail of 42 miles (67 km) that follows the River Ouse from its source at Lower Beeding to Seaford Bay.

The Way lies inside the valley of the Sussex Ouse but is not confined to the river. It starts in the High Weald, crosses into the Low Weald and passes through the South Downs south of Lewes.

The route is divided into the following 6 sections:

  • Lower Beeding to Staplefield Common: 7 miles (11 km)
  • Staplefield Common to Lindfield: 7.5 miles (12 km)
  • Lindfield to Newick: 7 miles (11 km)
  • Newick to Barcombe Mills: 6 miles (9.5 km)
  • Barcombe Mills to Rodmell: 8 miles (13 km)
  • Rodmell to Seaford Bay: 6 miles (10.5 km)
