Signs for cyclists
Cycle routes are principally indicated by signs and markings.
They may be either on the carriageway (cycle lanes); on footways
either shared with or segregated from pedestrians (cycle tracks),

routes have clear and correct signing, both for the cyclist and for
all other users. The type of signing used will depend on the legal
categorisation of the route in question.
Signs cyclist should be familiar with:
Remember, the shape and colour of the sign indicates the type of
message being relayed.
- Signs with red circles are mostly prohibitive and give
orders.
