Gross value added

Gross Value Added (GVA) is used as a measure of economic activity occurring in an area. GVA is similar to GDP (Gross Domestic Product), but excludes taxes and subsidies on products. It is the current basis on which National and Regional Accounts are prepared. The latest figures available are for 2006.
