Buchan Country Park
Although it is little more than 2 miles to
Buchan Country Park from Crawley town centre as the crow
flies, it's easy to leave behind the hustle and bustle by exploring
the 170 acres of woodland, heath and meadow.
An ideal place for walking, wildlife watching or enjoying a picnic, Buchan Country Park has plenty to offer. Lose yourself amongst the birch trees, wander around the heath and linger in the meadow. Enjoy this special piece of Sussex countryside and the wildlife that calls it home.
Managed by Crawley Angling Society, fishing is permitted on Douster Pond only. The lake has a reputation for large pike that do not give themselves up easily. Carp can reach a considerable size, and fish weighing up to 30lbs have been caught here.
Owned and managed by West Sussex County Council, Buchan Country Park comprises 170 acres of woodland, heath and meadow, little more than two miles from Crawley town centre.
