West Sussex County Council Design and Sustainability Awards
The 2011 Award winners and commendations
West Sussex County Council has run an award scheme,
promoting and celebrating the construction and restoration of
buildings and open spaces throughout the county since 1978.
In 2007, the categories changed to reflect the increasing need
for construction to be sustainable, both in terms of materials and
energy use.
This year the judging day was held on 3 August 2011 and the
judges were taken round to view 6 shortlisted entries. The entries
were judged by Chris Lamb, Chief Executive of Kent Architecture
Centre, Leeza Aldis-Hobbs, Chairman of Chichester and South
Coast Design Forum and Michael Rowan of West Sussex County
Council.
A presentation ceremony was held at Edes House on 29 September
2011, where the awards and commendation winners were announced by
Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council and Mike
Coleman, Chairman of the County Council. This year's brochure
giving further details of the award winners and the entries is in
supporting documents below.
