What's in your libraries
Libraries have much more than books! Music, audiobooks on CD, DVDs and console games are all available for loan and we have information on all aspects of books and reading.
Books and reading
We have over 1 million books just waiting to be borrowed, including novels, graphic novels, audio books, paperbacks, large print and information books and all the bestsellers.
Console games
You can now borrow games from Horsham, Crawley and Littlehampton libraries for Playstation 2, Xbox, Wii and DS consoles.
DVDs and videos
DVDs and videos are available in all 36 libraries in West Sussex. Stock is rotated around the libraries so that customers see different titles on a regular basis.

Find your way around the library with a guide on all items in our libraries including recorded music, fiction, non-fiction, videos, dvds, biographies and autobiographies.
Items for sale
Most libraries will have a selection of withdrawn items for sale. These can include books, videos, DVDs, console games and CDs. Find out what else you can buy in your local library.
Language tapes
If you are going on holiday and want to learn a few useful phrases, or you want to learn a language in more detail for pleasure or exams, your local library has a huge variety of language cassettes and CDs.
Music and CDs
We've got everything from Dolly Parton to Pulp, from Shostakovich to sound effects. There are nearly 33,000 CDs in the county stock just waiting to be borrowed!
Music sets and play sets
A partnership project between West Sussex County Library Service and the Performing Arts Library at Dorking provide access to over 6000 music sets. Customers requiring a music set can have access to this collection by registering with the Performing Arts Library for a small subscription.
