  • In West Sussex, the County Council and NHS West Sussex have agreed to make sure that opportunities for disabled children, young people and their families are improved.

  • Families with disabled children and young people told the government that their main priority is regular and reliable short breaks from caring. Local authorities now have a duty to provide a short breaks service to carers of disabled children.

  • Parents have told us that information should be of a high quality and clear so that families know about services and to be able to access high-quality childcare.

  • The government's vision is that every child or young person with a life-limiting or life threatening condition will have fair access to high quality services that reflects their choices.
