Chichester Park and Ride Consultation
What is Park and Ride?
Park and
Ride is a service which allows motorists to drive to an edge-of-town or city car park and then transfer to a bus for the remainder
of their journey. Park and Ride is being considered as a possible option as part of a package of measures to accompany the
Chichester A27 Bypass Improvements. At this stage we are not identifying potential Park and Ride sites for Chichester, instead
we are trying to understand if there is a need for it.

What are the
benefits of Park and Ride?
Park & Ride can be cheaper than parking in the town or city centre. It can be quicker
because motorists are able to avoid town/city centre congestion and the difficulties associated with finding a parking space.
It is also seen as being more environmentally friendly as it can reduce town /city centre congestion.
