Elections

The County Council has 62 electoral divisions, eight of which are represented by two members giving a total of 70 elected members.  Members are elected every four years.  The last election was held on Thursday, 5th May, 2005, on the same day as the General Election.  By-elections for the Angmering & Findon, Southwick, Cuckfield & Lucastes and Petworth electoral divisions were held on 1st June and 14th September 2006 and 3rd May and 7th June 2007 respectively.
