The Coastal Plain

The flat open landscape of the coastal plain has it own character with intensive farming and growing right next to large coastal towns. This mixture of food production and homes, plus the area's many resorts and attractions make it very much the 'garden' of West Sussex.

The countryside here has its own special feeling, with its long shingle beaches, the network of rivers and rifes, coastal inlets, such as Pagham Harbour, small areas of woodland and the general feeling of openness - particularly where sea, sky and land come together.
