Old Shoreham Tollbridge

Essential restoration work started in February. The refurbishment works on the Tollbridge are the most comprehensive since the British Railways Corporation sold the bridge to West Sussex County Council in 1970. The aim of the refurbishment is to preserve the bridge, a Grade II* listed structure, for at least another 30 years.

For safety reasons, the bridge had to close while the majority of the repairs were carried out. Now after six months of hard work and battling the elements, the work to Shoreham Tollbridge is complete. The bridge re-opened on Monday August 18, two weeks ahead of schedule.

There will be a formal opening ceremony in October.
