Exclusions

Exclusion means removing a child from school. It is one of the strategies available to schools for managing the behaviour of pupils, usually after other strategies have been tried. Only the Head teacher can exclude a pupil (or the most senior teacher in their absence).

Whilst excluded from school your child must not enter the school premises unless requested to do so by the school.

Exclusion is a legal sanction. If a parent does not comply with an exclusion the school must have due regard for the pupil’s safety in deciding what action to take.
