Population and Census Data
Conducted every 10 years, the Census provides very detailed statistics for the whole of the UK. It is often the only source of accurate information for small areas of the country.
The last Census took place on 29 April 2001.
You can find out more about the Census and get hold of further data from National Statistics and Neighbourhood Statistics.
On the 1901 Census web site, you can search records of people and properties from a century ago and obtain copies of the original completed census forms.
Official labour market statistics are available from NOMIS.
