Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence/Abuse is a crime that has a devastating impact on the Community and accounts for a quarter of all violent crime in West Sussex.
Domestic Violence occurs in both heterosexual and same sex relationships regardless of race, social status or class.
Sussex Police Definition of Domestic Violence
Any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are, or have been intimate partners regardless of gender.
It will also include family members, for example Mother, Father, Son, Daughter, Brother, Sister, Grandparents, In-laws and Stepfamily.
