Background

Coastal West Sussex LogoCoastal West Sussex is in one of the most beautiful and prosperous parts of Britain. It has a track record of growing investment by high quality businesses, stunning scenery and excellent amenities and attractions. Excitingly in Coastal West Sussex we are talking about new opportunities focused on economic growth, business excellence and environmental quality.

Coastal West Sussex aims to establish the area as the location of choice for Britain's most ambitious companies - and most discerning residents. We have already delivered major initiatives such as the flagship Ropetackle development in Shoreham-By-Sea, the East Bank development in Littlehampton and taken forward Worthing's visionary Masterplan, far-reaching improvements for Selsey High Street and the transformation of Bognor Regis town centre and seafront.

In West Sussex, Coastal West Sussex 21st Century has brought together funding organisations who share responsibility for improving the lives of local people in deprived areas. The work to date has made it possible to identify "gaps" in funding which can hopefully be addressed by working more closely together sharing skills and resources. The economic, social and environmental potential of the Coastal West Sussex is summarised within the Coastal West Sussex Opportinities Brochure - available for download from the link on the right-hand side of the page.

The Partnership Board is made up of representatives from West Sussex County Council, coastal local authorities, SEEDA, the West Sussex Economic Partnership, NHS Primary Care Trusts, Sussex Learning and Skills Council, Sussex Enterprise, the Government Office for the South East , Local Strategic Partnerships and the West Sussex Coastal Strategic Partnership.

For more information, please visit the Coastal West Sussex website.

The Partnership has received funding from SEEDA (South East England Development Agency) of £3.25 million over four years from 2004 to 2008 used alongside private, public and voluntary sector funding to deliver regeneration initiatives outlined in the annual Performance Plan for a specific financial year.
