Making contact
You can contact us about a child or young person by phone, textphone, fax, e-mail, letter or by visiting us. Or you may prefer someone, such as a friend or your GP, to contact us for you.
For children's social care, each region has one, or sometimes two, operational offices and a help desk. When you first contact us you will speak to one of our reception staff. Please let us know if you have any special communication or access needs so we can discuss your requirements in the most appropriate way with you.
If this is the first time you have contacted us, or you are calling about something new, we will put you through to the relevant help desk. Our help desks are run by specially-trained staff. They will need to ask you questions about your situation so that they can find out how we can best advise you. The help desk can also give you information about other care services in your area.
