Concessionary Travel
Since 2006 anyone aged 60 or over, and many disabled people, have qualified for concessionary bus travel. This has now been extended to allow bus travel in every area of England between 9.30am Monday to Friday, and all day during weekends and bank holidays.
To apply, please contact your local district or borough council.
You can also find out more on the Department for Transport's Concessionary Bus Fares page.
If you are disabled you may also qualify for a Disabled Persons Railcard. This can help you to obtain up to one third off the price of many rail tickets for a year.
You can also find out more about disabled travel concessions on the DirectGov website.
