Young drivers

Lost control, lost his licence, lost his best friend

You are three times more likely to be involved in a serious crash in your first year of driving.

People aged 17-25 represent only 10% of the UK's licence holders, but are involved in over 20% of all road traffic accidents. Every year over 1,000 17- 25 year olds are killed as a result of a road traffic crash.

Why do young people crash more regularly than more experienced drivers?

There are three main reasons:

  • A lower level of technical experience;
  • A less developed road sense;
  • An attitude that results in risk taking.

These deaths are avoidable.  We have developed a half-day driving course to give young people the practical skills they need to become better drivers.

The course, aims to bridge the skills gap identified in young drivers and bring about a change in attitude.
