Car parks

Off-street car parks in West Sussex are the responsibility of the district and borough councils (or in some cases a private contractor).  Find your district or borough council and view contact details.  Further information is provided below with links to relevant pages on the district and borough councils' web sites.

Current capacity of car parks

More information than ever before is being made available to the travelling public in West Sussex, thanks to a high-tech control centre at County Hall in Chichester.  A database links the information from various traffic control systems into one user-friendly interface that provides a real-time feed to the web site. The map-based system shows the current capacity of car parks across the county together with current and future planned roadworks, and forthcoming events such as fairs and processions.

Adur district

Adur District Council runs several car parks in the district, all of which are now pay and display.  A rolling programme is taking place for the installation of ticket machines to the sites currently without this facility.  The car parks are now split into two categories: long and short stay.  Find out more about parking in Adur.

Arun district

Within Arun district, there are 26 pay-and-display car parks in or close to the town centres and seafronts of Littlehampton and Bognor Regis as well as Arundel town centre.  Coach parking is also welcomed; there are two coach parks in Littlehampton and one in Bognor Regis.  Find out more about parking in Arun.

Chichester district

All Chichester district's car parks are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Parking charges are payable in these car parks by pay and display Monday to Saturday; on Sunday car parking is free.  Find out more about parking in Chichester.

Crawley borough

Crawley Borough Council is responsible for a number of public car parks in the town centre, and works closely with us to manage on-street parking in residential areas. There are four multi-storey public car parks in the town centre as well as a number of other surface car parks.  Together these provide a total of around 4,000 spaces.  Find out more about parking in Crawley.

Horsham district

The careful control of on-street parking in town centres is considered to be a prerequisite for effective traffic management and the promotion of alternatives to the car. Over the past two years, in partnership with Horsham District Council, neighbourhood councils and the business community, we have developed the Horsham Town On-Street Parking Strategy.  Find out more about parking in Horsham town centre or read the urban parking policy.

Mid Sussex district

Mid Sussex District Council is responsible for the pay-and-display car parks in Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, and East Grinstead.  Find out more about parking in Mid Sussex.

Worthing borough

Within Worthing, there are 10 car parks in or close to the town centre.
