Introduction
The West Sussex Sustainability Forum, an independent strategic partnership of public, private and voluntary organisations, was brought together in 1994 by West Sussex County Council in response to the Agenda 21 declaration which came from the 1992 Rio Earth Summit. The Forum is managed by a Steering Group drawn from its members.
The Forum aims to encourage individuals, organisations and communities in West Sussex to play their part in creating a better quality of life for current and future generations by living and working in a sustainable way.
In March 2005 they launched "Time for Action", a West Sussex Sustainability Strategy, to provide an overarching guide for achieving sustainable development in West Sussex.
West Sussex County Council is a member of the Forum.
