Household Waste Recycling Sites

West Sussex County Council provides 12 Household Waste Recycling Sites for the public to use to dispose of their own household waste.

Wastes Management have provided security cameras to assist with monitoring the use of the Household Waste Recycling Sites to prevent the misuse of inappropriate waste delivery. Traders are not permitted to utilise the Household Waste Recycling sites for their waste disposal. This also ensures that residents / tax payers get value for money for the facilities that they are entitled to.

The cameras ensure that the sites meet the requirements for the duty of care provisions where only the right types of waste are delivered to the waste facilities.

They are important for the audit arrangements with our contractors

Webcams are to be added to each of the sites (currently only two are in existence - Burgess Hill and Worthing) to enhance the security issues as previously mentioned.
